The energy born beneath our feet

URKO ENERGY is an Ecuadorian company dedicated to developing geothermal projects and representing companies of the sector — turning a renewable, clean and constant resource into real impact today.

The name

URKO — mountain, earth-force

URKO represents the force of the earth, originary energy and the capacity to generate positive impact. The name evokes urko — mountain, earth-force — and joins it with ENERGY to communicate energy that is real, close and transformative.

The mark

A mountain, a bolt, and latitude 0°

Our symbol combines the shape of an Andean mountain — stability and origin — with a lightning bolt for energy and movement. Its ascending angle stands for progress and vision; the green speaks to the renewable, clean character of the geothermal resource.

The degree symbol beside URKO refers to latitude 0°, the Middle of the World, and declares the Ecuadorian origin of the brand.

A country built on volcanic heat

Ecuador's territory crosses one of the most active volcanic arcs on the planet. High-temperature geothermal systems sit close to population centres and transmission infrastructure, which shortens the distance between a resource and the grid.

Adding firm renewable capacity strengthens the national energy matrix and reduces dependence on hydrological conditions during dry seasons — while creating skilled local work in the highlands where projects are built.
