URKO ENERGY launches to accelerate geothermal development in Ecuador

A new Ecuadorian company dedicated to geothermal project development and to representing established sector companies in the country.

URKO ENERGY begins operations with a single purpose: to turn Ecuador's geothermal potential into reliable, clean electricity and heat. The company develops projects from early reconnaissance through to development support, and represents international companies that supply the technology, drilling capability and engineering needed to build them.

The name comes from urko — mountain, earth-force — and the degree symbol in the logo points to latitude 0°, the Middle of the World, declaring the company's Ecuadorian origin.

Our first year is focused on resource screening across the country's volcanic arc, building partnerships with technology providers, and working alongside the communities that host geothermal resources.
